Monkeypox could be detected by lateral flow test in just 10 minutes in new trial

United Kingdom SureScreen Disease Guy and St Thomas NHS Foundation Trust

A new lateral flow test that could detect monkeypox in humans in just 10 minutes is currently being trialled.

The monkeypox test uses a small drop of finger-prick blood, and is said to be the first of its kind in Europe.

UK-based SureScreen Diagnostics is working with Yorkshire-based medical technology provider TestCard and Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust in London during the trial.
