Trial of six French Islamic State suspects opens in Baghdad

The trial of six French nationals suspected of belonging to the "Islamic State" (IS) group opened in Baghdad on Sunday morning, with the next hearing scheduled for 5 October.

They face the death penalty if they are found guilty of crimes "against Iraq and the Iraqi people."
