Treylon Burks is one of many receivers in the 2022 rookie class that has met with the New England Patriots during this pre-draft process. And Burks shared some insights on his meeting with the Patriots at the NFL combine this week in Indianapolis.
“It was really intense just knowing that you’re in a meeting with the Patriots. Their organization is held to a high standard. I just went in there and took it on like a man,” Treylon Burks said during a meeting with the meeting in Indy, via the Providence Journal’s Mark Daniels.
New England has met with just about every top receiver in the class, from Alabama’s Jameson Williams and John Metchie to Ohio State’s Chris Olave — and so many others. But so far, Burks is the only one to discuss that meeting. The others merely confirmed that they met with New England.

Burks could be the hulking, prototypical receiver that the Patriots have lacked since Randy Moss. That isn’t to say Burks compares to Moss. It’s just that physically (6-foot-3, 225 pounds) he is bigger than just about every productive receiver in New England’s recent history. N’Keal Harry, a 2019 first-round draft choice, seems to be on the outs with the team after a rough first three years. Burks could be what Harry was not.
If there was a comparison that Burks is hearing, he welcomed the comparison to A.J. Brown.
“There are some comparisons in that just by body structure, how big we are, how fast we are,” Burks said at the NFL Combine, via The Tennessean. “I’ve watched him along the way (and) my college career.”
