Trevoh Chalobah ready to leave Chelsea after definitive snub with price tag set

Trevoh Chalobah is ready to leave Chelsea after the club agreed a £38.6million deal to sign Monaco defender Axel Disasi.

Chalobah has played a key role under Mauricio Pochettino so far in pre-season but believes his opportunities will be limited next season.

Thiago Silva, Levi Colwill and Benoit Badiashile are already ahead of him and he wants to play more regular football as he targets a place in the England squad ahead of Euro 2024 next summer.

Chelsea have set an asking price of £45million for Chalobah.

Inter Milan have been interested in Chalobah but it remains to be seen if other clubs will come forward for him.

Chelsea have moved to sign Disasi after Wesley Fofana suffered a serious knee injury that will keep him out for a considerable period of time.

The 25-year-old can play at centre-back and at right-back. He was part of the France squad at the World Cup last year, making three appearances in Qatar.

Pochettino confirmed he wants to sign a new right-sided centre-back after Chelsea beat Fulham 2-0 in a pre-season friendly in Washington on Sunday night, saying: “With Fofana's injury, I think it is obvious that maybe we need to reinforce this area. It is clear.”
