Bus operator Trentbarton has explained a shortage of drivers is the main reason behind a raft of service cancellations over the last few months. Each morning the firm will announce on social media which services will not be running at which times, and this information is updated during the day to allow customers to make informed plans about their journeys.
However, many customers are still frustrated about the number of services being cancelled. A Trentbarton spokesperson said: “Unfortunately we have been unable to operate a number of services recently due to a shortage of available drivers. Driver shortages are impacting the whole of the bus industry and many other sectors."
