Following the worst game of Mac Jones’ NFL career, New England Patriots offensive tackle Trent Brown liked a social media post featuring a quote from ESPN’s Bill Barnwell talking about the quarterbacks the team would likely pursue in 2023.
Of course, one of the quarterbacks was the greatest of all time, Tom Brady, while the other was Brady’s former backup and current San Francisco 49er Jimmy Garoppolo.
“The Patriots have to at least call Brady’s people to inquire whether he would like to return to New England to finish out his career. …They could also pursue Garoppolo,” the post stated.
In the likes on Instagram, Brown’s profile was shown as having liked the post.

No one is saying it’s wrong for Brown to wish for the Patriots to pursue other options internally. The jury is still out on whether Jones is rightfully the future face of the franchise or not.
But it’s not a good look to be liking a post like that when Jones is still his teammate and the starting quarterback for the Patriots. That’s all assuming Brown has sole control over his social media account, too.
If he didn’t like it, maybe he’ll come out and say as much. But a picture is worth a thousand words, and Brown liking that post doesn’t speak too highly of his faith in Jones at quarterback.
