Trent Alexander-Arnold's one-word Bukayo Saka message triggers Arsenal transfer demand

England's 7-0 thrashing of North Macedonia on Monday night garnered a huge response from Arsenal supporters on social media.

Of course, with Bukayo Saka netting his first-ever senior hat-trick in stunning fashion at Old Trafford, there were some who took to Twitter to insist the Gunners star is better than Marcus Rashford, while others were simply praising the club's decision to tie him down to a new long-term contract.

Although, as it is the international break, once again some Arsenal supporters have let their imaginations run wild in a similar fashion to one fan who had brilliantly theorised a scenario that 'hinted' at Erling Haaland's imminent arrival in north London as prior to a Norway fixture last year when the striker posed for a picture alongside Martin Odegaard.

Whilst the 22-year-old did end up swapping clubs not too long after this transfer theory emerged, he joined Manchester City instead and was a driving force in ensuring Pep Guardiola's side retained the Premier League trophy at the Gunners' expense as well as winning the Champions League and FA Cup.

Despite that disappointment, some fans are back for another round of transfer theories and this time it involves Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold. Having forced his way into Gareth Southgate's plans, the 24-year-old impressed in both England games against Malta and North Macedonia.

He went from goalscorer on Friday evening to provider three days later as he claimed an assist for Saka thanks to a stunning first-time pass which earned him praise from the Arsenal star: "[Alexander-Arnold] is a top player, everyone knows that," he told Channel 4, as per the Liverpool Echo.

"At half-time, he said to me that he was going to do that pass, so when I did score [the goal] I was looking to thank him, because he did it perfectly. I didn't have to break my stride. That's just the quality he has, so credit to him."

The pair then exchanged messages on Instagram. Alexander-Arnold uploaded an image of them celebrating with a caption that read: "Chemistry" to which Saka responded with a simple three-word message of: "The link-up.." which was accompanied with a couple of emojis.

Now, this interaction allowed some Arsenal and Liverpool supporters to reach an agreement that this partnership should be replicated at club level. Unsurprisingly, those connected to the north London outfit would rather see it play out at the Emirates Stadium rather than Anfield.

giogreaves98 joked: "Trent to Arsenal Midfield next season", ___sysy said: "Come to Arsenal then", "Come to Arsenal?" asked kellyxoi, whilst on Twitter @EduardoHagn revealed the one incentive for Alexander-Arnold to make the move by saying: "Come play UCL, king."

In truth, it is extremely unlikely that Saka and Alexander-Arnold will ever be teammates at club level as both players have come through the academies at Arsenal and Liverpool respectively and are part of long-term projects. As a result, this partnership will be exclusive to the England national team only.
