Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold has forecasted another entertaining game between Manchester City and Real Madrid on Wednesday night.
The right-back helped his side to a 5-2 aggregate victory over Villarreal as the Reds progressed through to this month’s Champions League final in Paris. City travel to Spain with a 4-3 first-leg lead over Madrid.
Pep Guardiola is attempting to reach a second consecutive final following last year’s defeat to Chelsea. Alexander-Arnold has predicted another “good game” at the Bernabeu and believes both sides deserve to face Liverpool in the final.

Speaking after the win over Villarreal he said: “It’s nice to get the job done on a Tuesday, we can watch the game tomorrow knowing we’ll be in the final and playing one of them. I’m sure it’ll be a good game.
“I think if it goes anything like last week we’re in for another amazing game. Either opponent deserves to get to the final so it’s exciting to see who we’ll get.”
A City win would mean the Champions League final will have been an all-English battle for three of the past four seasons. Liverpool beat Tottenham to lift the trophy in 2019.
After Bayern Munich defeated Paris Saint-Germain in 2020, City suffered a 1-0 defeat to Chelsea in last year’s showdown.
Liverpool lost to Real Madrid in the 2018 final and were also defeated the last time they played City in a major final; the 2016 League Cup at Wembley.
