An animal shelter at an Ayrshire park was crushed by fallen trees during recent storms.
The shelter, which is part of the deer park at Belleisle Park in Ayr, will have to be rebuilt after it was battered by ferocious winds last week.
Elsewhere in the park, a huge tree was blown down at the Belleisle golf course which remains closed due to the bad weather with more yellow warnings in place for wind this week.
Luckily, none of the deer were injured.
It is believed the extensive damage was caused over the weekend when Storm Franklin brought gale-force winds to South Ayrshire.
Dramatic images taken by a park volunteer have shown the trail of destruction as the roots of trees were ripped up.
Olena Stewart, who chairs charity organisation Friends of Belleisle, told Ayrshire Live: “I went down on Tuesday and it was quite devastating to see the damage caused by the storms.
“It is good to know that none of the animals were hurt after the deer shelter was struck by one of the trees.
“It just shows how powerful the weather can be to bring these trees down.
“I’m confident that the council have everything under control – they use a tree management system at Belleisle and I know they are working to get them removed.”
Council teams have been out this week making the fallen trees safe and removing the battered trunks from the two sites.
Park visitors have been warned to stay away from any damaged trees. A South Ayrshire Council spokesperson said: "A number of trees have come down at Belleisle Park due to the recent storms.
"At the deer park, a tree came down and hit the shelter. No animals were hurt, the tree is stable and will be removed in due course. The shelter will also be rebuilt.
"On the golf course, several damaged trees will be made safe over the coming days. The course is currently shut due to the bad weather.
"Anyone visiting the park should be aware and avoid any damaged trees."
