Treasurer’s number-crunching cracks the top 10

You could call it a budget but it was really an early edition of the midyear economic update that normally comes pre-Christmas — instead it was pre-Halloween. 629,000 watched the treasurer’s speech on the ABC, and it was 10th on the national most-watched list last night.

Australia’s victory over Sri Lanka in the T20 World Cup game in Perth averaged 378,000 from 10pm-1am, and that along with the 1.158 million for The Block ensured an easy win for Nine on the night — and for the week.
