Travis Scott gives first public performance since Astroworld tragedy

Travis Scott gave his first public performance since the tragedy at his Astroworld music festival last year.

The rapper performed for about 45 minutes overnight Saturday at the E11EVEN nightclub in Miami, according to TMZ.

Songs in Scott’s set reportedly included the hits “Sicko Mode” and “Goosebumps,” and he was joined onstage by fellow rapper Quavo.

The performance came during a high-profile weekend in the southeastern Florida city, which is hosting the Miami Grand Prix.

Before this weekend, Scott had only performed at private events since Nov. 5, when the crowd surged during his headlining Astroworld set at NRG Park in Houston, leaving 10 people dead.

Scott, who is from Houston, has said he didn’t realize the crowd was surging during his performance. He offered to cover the funeral costs of the victims and vowed to refund the 50,000 people who attended the festival that day.

Last month, the Primavera Sound festival announced that Scott will perform in Chile, Argentina and Brazil in November. Those performances are scheduled to be Scott’s first at a festival since Astroworld.

Scott, 31, is a nine-time Grammy nominee. He has two children with his partner, reality star Kylie Jenner.
