Travis Kelce spoke glowingly of Taylor Swift hours before 'break up contract leak'

Travis Kelce assured fans that all is well between him and girlfriend Taylor Swift as he gushed over the pop star just hours before his team had to address a leaked PR contract suggesting the exact date of their supposed breakup.

The NFL star shared sweet details about his surprise appearance at her Wembley Stadium show during the Eras Tour in June during an interview on the Rich Eisen Show on Tuesday.

Dressed in white tie and black tails, the Kansas City tight end took part in a lighthearted bit during The Tortured Poets Department segment before she launched into I Can Do It with a Broken Heart.

Reflecting on the moment, Kelce said: “Taylor knew when the lights are on, I'm gonna have some fun. She put me in a position where I didn't have to do much for it to be a success.

“Just getting her to the couch was the hardest part," he joked, adding that it would have been "the most embarrassing thing" if he had dropped her.

The 34-year-old also revealed that Swift made sure he felt comfortable with the cameo, asking: "Are you sure you want to do this?"

He went on to praise her for making the experience enjoyable, saying, "I'm always down to have some fun on stage with Tay Tay."

In a candid moment, Kelce shared on his New Heights podcast with his brother Jason that he initially joked with Swift about riding out on a motorcycle during her 1989 era performance.

To his surprise, she took him up on the offer, and he was thrilled to be part of the show. "I've seen the show enough – might as well put me to work here," he said, adding that Swift found the perfect moment for his cameo.

His comments come after a document circulated online claiming that Kelce and Swift are in a PR-staged relationship and are set to break up later this month.

The so-called 'contract,' allegedly from his US public relations firm Full Scope, outlines a strategy for their supposed split, pinpointing September 28 as the date the breakup would be announced.

Kelce's representatives have strongly denied the document's authenticity and have taken legal action to stop its spread.

A spokesperson for the PR firm emphasised that the documents are "entirely false and fabricated" and confirmed that they “were not created, issued, or authorized by this agency,” according to the Daily Mail.

Kelce's representatives stated: "We have engaged our legal team to take action against those responsible for this unlawful and damaging document forgery."

The fake paperwork goes into extensive detail about how the breakup should be handled, suggesting a statement be released three days after the split to allow the media frenzy to die down and ensure clarity. It even provides a sample statement for both parties to use.

The suggested wording reads: "Travis and Taylor have decided to part ways after careful consideration. They both value and respect each other’s personal lives and appreciate your respect for privacy during this time.

“They are both committed to their careers and personal growth. They remain friends and wish each other the best."

The document first made the rounds on Reddit (Reddit)

The document also emphasises that any statements should highlight Kelce's personal growth and commitment to his sports career as central to the narrative.

Photos of the forged documents have circulated widely on social media, particularly on Reddit, sparking intense discussions among fans trying to determine if the documents could be real.

One user claimed the language in the document: “Sound’s like chatgpt tbh.”

“The number one reason this looks fake to me, as someone who works in PR — there is no way he’d be doing ‘select interviews’ in the aftermath of this,” another shared. “Just no. You release a statement and then it would be awhile before his team would be proactively seeking out ANY interviews.

“Crisis comms in this case would be to wait some time before anything other than the statement.”

While a third remarked: “ETA: Lots of reasons this looks fake but that one is glaringly stupid from a crisis comms perspective for this scenario.”

The Standard has contacted Travis Kelce’s representatives at Full Scope PR for comment.
