Travel insurance firm creating more than 100 jobs in Cardiff

One of the UK’s fastest-growing specialist insurance firms has established a new office in Cardiff in an investment that will create more than 100 jobs.

AllClear Group, a market-leading provider of specialist travel insurance for people with medical conditions, has already created 38 jobs at its Brunel House operation in the city centre. It is actively recruiting and is on track to see headcount exceed 100 in the coming months.

Set up in Essex in 2000, it has provided cover to more than three million policyholders, with customers across the UK, Ireland and Australia.

With the global travel market reopening after the lifting of pandemic restrictions, the investment is part of AllClear’s latest expansion plans. Its new operation in Cardiff will focus on customer service and its technology platforms.

Its investment in the city has been supported by Cardiff Council, whose economic development team has played a key role in helping AllClear to find office space and to make connections with local suppliers and partners.

Cardiff Council’s cabinet member for investment and development, Russell Goodway, said: “We are delighted to see AllClear invest in Cardiff, they are part of a growing financial and professional services cluster here in the capital city and we very much hope that they will continue to grow and create many new jobs.”

Chris Rolland, chief executive of AllClear Group said: “Despite a very challenging Covid era for the travel industry, the AllClear Group is ready for the return of travel and helping more customers than ever before. Our new Cardiff office will be the fourth site for our UK operations and marks another bold step for one of the fastest growing travel companies in the UK.

“We chose Cardiff for our new office because the city has a proud track record of supporting businesses and fostering a positive culture of innovation and enterprise. I would like to thank the Cardiff Council team who have been a partner in the true sense of the word.

“They have worked really hard to help our transition to the city and to make connections with a number of key suppliers. As a business, we aim to reciprocate by investing in the economic health of the city - as a hub for business innovation - and we are delighted to create employment opportunities in and around the city.”

AllClear also has operations in the Republic of Ireland and Australia.
