A TikTok user has shared some genius hacks for securing a row of seats to yourself while flying.
Chelsea Dickenson from Cheap Holiday Expert had some handy advice to share for couples hoping to nab a row of seat to themselves. She recommended in a viral TikTok video that a couple select both the window and the aisle seat when pre-booking their flight, leaving the middle seat vacant.
She said: "The theory here is that a person is much less likely to pick a seat in between two strangers, so they will opt for another row. Even if they do select that seat, you can ask them if they’d prefer the window or aisle seat so it works out for everyone."

She also had some sage advice on booking particular aisles. She said that people should opt for Row 13 if hoping to secure seats to themselves, as some passengers fear the unlucky number before taking off.
The content creator proved in her video that the strategy could work, as her and her partner ended up with their own row after following her advice. The pair were left with plenty of extra space on their journey and reclined across their middle seat at the end of the video.
Chelsea offers advice to people looking to save on their trips abroad on her TikTok channel. You can watch her video on plane seats here.
