Transport minister Eamon Ryan has defended the US president’s huge motorcade after greeting Joe Biden as he arrived in the west of Ireland.

Mr Biden’s trip to Co Mayo, where his ancestors emigrated from, marks the final day of his four-day trip to the island of Ireland.
