NAGASAKI -- A former junior high school teacher in Sasebo, Nagasaki Prefecture, has translated an English book written by a former U.S. Navy employee about Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor. The Japanese edition, "Pearl Harbor no Mokugekisha: Kodomo-tachi no Dec. 7, 1941," was released prior to the 81st anniversary of the attack on Wednesday (Thursday in Japan).

The original book, titled "Ford Island December 7, 1941: A Collection of Eyewitness Accounts from the Residents Closest to Battleship Row," is a collection of testimonies from U.S. military families who witnessed the attack while living on Ford Island in the middle of Pearl Harbor in Oahu, Hawaii.
