Dominik Szoboszlai has agreed a new contract at Liverpool.

The versatile Hungarian midfielder has become an instrumental figure at Anfield and had been linked with an exit following his strong 2025/26 campaign and having sarcastically applauded fans following the FA Cup quarter-final thrashing by Manchester City.

Real Madrid were among the clubs said to be keen on Szoboszlai, who had two years left to run on his previous deal.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool will soon announce a bumper three-year extension sealed today that will last until 2031 and make him one of the club’s top earners.

Mohamed Salah decision coming soon

10:29 , George Flood

It seems like an update on Mohamed Salah’s club future is imminent.

The Liverpool icon is available as a free agent this summer after leaving Anfield last month following nine illustrious years.

His next move has yet to be confirmed, though there have been no shortage of links to clubs all over the world - particularly in Saudi Arabia and the United States.

Now Salah’s agent, Ramy Abbas Issa, has spoken out on social media, tweeting this morning: “We still do not know where Mohamed will play next season but we may know very soon.

“It is not our style to have discussions with clubs that Mohamed wouldn’t want to play for, just for the sake of noise.”

Liverpool push for Wharton and Rayan deals

09:47 , George Flood

Liverpool are reportedly targeting deals for Adam Wharton and Rayan this summer, as well as Bradley Barcola.

The Reds are working hard on their squad at the start of the Andoni Iraola era as they attempt to replace the great Mohamed Salah, having already welcomed Victor Munoz from Osasuna but likely missed out on RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande.

According to Football Transfers, Liverpool have now made Crystal Palace and England midfielder Wharton their “top target” in this window.

As well as that, TEAMtalk are reporting that contact has already been made with Iraola’s former club Bournemouth over a potential deal for Brazilian winger Rayan.

They could yet end up with Barcola, especially if Diomande joins Paris Saint-Germain as expected.

Man Utd ponder shock Nico Raskin move

09:33 , George Flood

Hugo Larsson is not the only surprise new name in the Manchester United transfer frame today.

It appears that Michael Carrick is very much not done yet with overhauling his midfield options at Old Trafford, despite last week’s arrivals of both Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans for a combined price of around £85m.

As well as eyeing Eintracht Frankfurt star Larsson, it seems United could be pondering a shock swoop for a player a little closer to home.

Belgian outlet Voetbalkrant suggest that Rangers star Nico Raskin is on their radar - as well as Aston Villa’s - after a positive World Cup with the other Red Devils.

The Old Lady are also considering France forward Randal Kolo Muani, who had a successful loan spell in Turin back in 2025, but fared less well in a season-long loan at Tottenham, scoring just one league goal.

Amid reported interest in Norway and RB Leipzig winger Antonio Nusa from Arsenal and Liverpool, Sky Sports Deutschland’s Philipp Hinze has reiterated Leipzig’s asking price of at least £51m (€60m).

The forward, 21, featured in a lively cameo from the bench in Norway’s 2-1 quarter-final loss to England on Saturday, forcing a tidy stop from Jordan Pickford after cutting in off the left-wing.

Arsenal are looking to replace Besiktas-bound Leandro Trossard, while Liverpool - despite having already signed winger Victor Munoz from Osasuna - want more depth on the flanks after Mohamed Salah’s departure on a free transfer earlier this month.

Saliba injury may alter Arsenal transfer plans

Wednesday 15 July 2026 15:54 , Ronan Sullivan

William Saliba was taken off in France’s 2-0 semi-final loss to Spain last night, reportedly with a recurrence of a back injury he had been managing over the last few months of Arsenal’s season.

He had already missed the Norway group stage victory with the same injury and was reportedly telling the France medical team, “my back is gone” as he was substituted in the 29th minute against Spain.

Depending on its severity, Arsenal may have to dip into the transfer market for a Saliba replacement. They currently have Cristhian Mosquera and Gabriel Magalhaes as orthodox centre back options.

However, Mikel Arteta’s signings in defence have prioritised positional flexibility, meaning Ricardo Calafiori, Piero Hincapie and Ben White - despite being nominal full-backs - can operate at the centre of defence.

Gakpo set for Liverpool stay despite Tottenham interest

Wednesday 15 July 2026 15:34 , Ronan Sullivan

Cody Gakpo is set to remain at Liverpool, despite interest from Spurs, according to TalkSport.

Roberto de Zerbi’s side had been interested in a move for £70m-rated Gakpo as they look to reinforce their attack, but TalkSport’s Alex Crook has said they are not willing to sanction the Dutchman’s sale.

Gakpo, 27, joined Liverpool in 2023 after a scintillating 2022 World Cup: he scored three goals in Qatar and another three at the 2026 edition before the Netherlands exited at the hands of Morocco in the last 16.

Liverpool have added to their attack with the signing of Victor Munoz and are also considering Brighton’s Yankubeh Minteh as they look to rejig their attack following Mo Salah’s departure.

Spurs have also spent heavily, but in midfield, breaking their transfer record twice on Mateus Fernandes (£85m) from West Ham and Sandro Tonali (£100m) from Newcastle.

The Ecuador international, 28, left the Seagulls last year and has made just 19 league appearances for the Milanese side.

The player and Arsenal have already agreed personal terms, according to reports, but this transfer demand by Newcastle may scupper their plans.

The Premier League title winners recently sold Leandro Trossard to Besiktas and are looking to offload bit-part player Christian Norgaard, as well as Gabriel Jesus.
