Tottenham are ready to rival Arsenal for Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi as both clubs aim to upgrade their defence.
Guehi has enjoyed an impressive season for Palace, earned a recall to the England squad in March and is set to be the subject of transfer interest this summer.
Spurs have long-standing interest in Guehi and need to overhaul a defence that has shipped 15 goals in their last four matches.
Clement Lenglet is due to return to Barcelona at the end of his season-long loan spell and Davinson Sanchez is also facing an uncertain future.
Arsenal have identified Guehi as a possible target after a lack a squad depth at centre-back hurt their title bid following an injury to William Saliba.
Rob Holding has struggled and the Gunners have conceded 11 goals in four matches without Saliba. Holding is out of contract at the end of next season and Jakub Kiwior has made just three appearance since his £20million January move from Spezia.
Guehi joined Palace form Chelsea in an £18m deal in 2021 and Chelsea would be due a sizeable percentage for any future sale.
They would also be given the chance to match any offer, though they are unlikely to be in the market for another centre-back this summer.
