A number of trains have been cancelled or delayed this morning on different routes due to problems across the network. Overrunning engineering works are cancelling trains between Manchester Piccadilly and Liverpool Lime Street with signalling faults affecting services between Manchester Piccadilly and Crewe to Wales.
Northern, TransPennine Express, and Transport for Wales services between Manchester and Liverpool are being cancelled or delayed due to overrunning engineering works, according to National Rail Enquiries. The work between Patricroft and Broad Green means some lines are blocked.
Trains are being cancelled, diverted, and delayed, with this disruption expected to last through to the afternoon. Road replacement services are being put in place with Northern tickets being accepted on TransPennine services going via Warrington Central. Newton-Le-Willows and Lea Green are not being served.
