Train cancellations hit record high (but Elizabeth line is named second most punctual railway in country)

The number of train cancellations has hit a new record, with almost 120,000 services axed or part-cancelled in the run-up to Christmas.

The figures came as Transport Secretary Heidi Alexander published data showing the worst stations across the country for cancelled trains – including a number served by the London Overground and Elizabeth line.
