
Trailblazing assistant NHL coach Jessica Campbell has shared a statement after her departure from the Seattle Kraken was announced.
Kraken general manager Jason Botterill confirmed she was leaving the team at the end of the season Thursday afternoon because she wants to explore other roles around the league. ,
“We support her in this process,” Botterill wrote. “Jessica has been an important member of our coaching staff for the past four years, demonstrating deep knowledge and a unique ability to connect with and develop players. We respect her decision and believe strongly in her as a coach in this league.”
Campbell, who made history as the NHL’s first on-bench female assistant coach, shared his statement on her Instagram story, writing, “Thankful for this city, organization and our fans. You mean so much to me.”
Campbell was promoted from the American Hockey League’s Coachella Firebirds in 2024.
