POLICE have seized two trail bikes in suburban Newcastle as part of an ongoing crackdown on the illegal use of the vehicles on the region's roads.
Officers from Newcastle City Police District executed a search warrant at a home on Charlton Street, New Lambton, about 1.30pm on Tuesday, where they found two unregistered trail bikes.
NSW Police said in a statement officers believed the bikes "had been used illegally on nearby roads and parks".
"The two trail bikes, along with several other items of interest, were seized by police and will undergo forensic examination," the statement said.
"Inquiries into the illegal use of trail bikes on Newcastle roads are ongoing.
"Anyone with information or footage that might assist police is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000."
As the Newcastle Herald has previously reported, the illegal use of unregistered trail bikes on roads throughout the region has been an ongoing problem.
