Toddlers and Tiaras star Kailia Posey sent gift to her mum before taking her own life

The mother of late Toddlers & Tiaras star Kailia Posey has been left gobsmacked by a heartfelt gift that her daughter bought her which arrived in the post after her tragic death.

Devastated mum, Marcy Posey Gatterman, has been grieving since confirming the death of Kalila earlier this month – when it was confirmed that the former beauty pageant contestant had taken her own life aged just 16.

It has transpired that Kalila bought a gift for her mother at some point before she took her own life – with the package arriving in the mail after the tragedy.

Marcy has been left touched and shocked by the present that arrived in the post – as it was a blanket that featured a hauntingly astute message embroidered across it.

Speaking to E! News, Marcy said she was “blown away by the thoughtfulness” of the gift and told the outlet it will be treasured forever.

The blanket, which it is believed Kailia found via TikTok – contained a message stating: "Dear Mom, even when I'm not close by, I want you to know I love and appreciate you. Always.”

The message concludes: “Wrap yourself up in this and consider it a big hug. I love you."

Marcy told the outlet that she has been floored by the outpouring of grief and support from around the world that she has experience since Kailia’s suicide was reported on 4 May.

She also says she hopes the tragic story will help others confront their own feelings and ask for help.

She told the outlet: “This is the worst thing a mother can go through.

“Parents who have teenagers that have phones, check their phones. And if you're struggling, talk to your parents. They're not judging you. They're going to get you the help that you need, but we need to know what you need in order get the help you need. Don't keep it inside."

And with fans from around the world contacting her via social media, Marcy added: "I don't think she knew how many people loved her. I wish I could go back."

Kailia’s death was announced earlier this month with the family sharing a heartbreaking statement online.

It read: "Although she was an accomplished teenager with a bright future ahead of her, unfortunately in one impetuous moment, she made the rash decision to end her earthly life."

The devastated family continued: "She won countless crowns and trophies after competing on the pageant circuit her entire life ... Her highly acclaimed talent as a contortionist had already led to professional touring job offers, and she had recently been selected to be a cheerleader at her high school next fall."

While heartbroken mum Marcy added: "I don't have words or any thoughts. A beautiful baby girl is gone.
