A tragic incident occurred at Wild Rivers water park in Irvine, California, on Saturday afternoon, resulting in the death of a 12-year-old boy. The Irvine Police Department and local fire officials responded to reports of a child in need of medical aid at the park.
Paramedics swiftly transported the boy to the hospital, where he unfortunately passed away. A spokesperson from Wild Rivers confirmed that the boy experienced a non-water, but medical-related incident outside one of the pools.
The park expressed deep sadness over the incident and extended their condolences to the boy's family and loved ones. Despite the prompt response from the park's team and emergency services, the boy could not be saved.
Wild Rivers water park, known as California's premier water park, offers a variety of attractions including 20 water slides, thrill rides, a wave pool, and a lazy river. The park first opened in July 1986 and recently reopened in 2022 after an expansion.
