Tragedy as 15-year-old girl dies after getting into difficulty in water in Tameside

A 15-year-old girl has tragically died after being pulled from the water in Tameside on Wednesday night (June 14).

Emergency services attended the scene beside Hodge Lane, in Broadbottom, shortly before 8pm following reports of a person in difficulty in the water.

The teenager was retrieved from the water but was later confirmed dead despite the best efforts of paramedics.
