The government is preparing to reinforce safety and rights protection in schools by introducing “Traffy Fondue for Education”, a centralised incident reporting and case management platform that will allow the public to report safety concerns and track progress around the clock.
The Ministry of Education is establishing a Rights, Freedom and Safety Protection Centre while developing the new digital platform to improve the protection of teachers, students and educational personnel, deputy government spokeswoman Capt Phattharatsami Thongsaluay said on Wednesday.
The system is designed to provide a single channel for reporting incidents involving rights violations and safety concerns in schools, enabling faster access to assistance and the transparent monitoring of authorities’ responses.
The ministry has integrated efforts among its core agencies, with existing reporting systems — including RADBOX, MOE ONE and EDU Save — merged into a single platform under Traffy Fondue for Education.
The unified system based on the well-known Traffy Fondue platform will handle incident reporting, case tracking and the management of rights and safety issues across educational institutions nationwide.
The ministry said the platform is currently undergoing legal and regulatory procedures while technical development and public consultations continue.
A pilot launch is expected in September. Once the required legal procedures are completed, the system will allow the public to submit reports and monitor the progress of cases 24 hours a day.
The Traffy Fondue platform was developed by Dr Wasan Pattara-atikom and his research team at the National Electronics and Computer Technology Center. He said its distinctive name is a play on the English word “traffic” and the Thai word fongdu, “to report”.
Traffy Fondue has long since evolved beyond its original association with traffic problems. The @traffyfondue official Line account currently has 872,000 users. They use the AI-powered chatbot to report urban issues across Thailand, with the platform having been adopted by over 17,000 agencies nationwide.
