Once the turkey and stuffing has been consumed on Christmas Day, many start planning their Boxing Day. And, namely, a trip to the traditional Boxing Day sales.
Greater Manchester's biggest shopping mall, The Trafford Centre, is a top destination for many for a Boxing Day trip out to check out the discounts and offers from retailers. And this year it will once again open to shoppers on Monday, December 26.
But a number of shops have this year taken the decision NOT to open on Boxing Day 2022, in order to give staff more of a festive break on the bank holiday.

The Trafford Centre has announced that its main mall opening hours for Boxing Day will be from 8am to 8pm , but individual retailers may set their own times. And two retailers will be opening a little earlier than that for early bird bargain hunters as well.
Boots at the shopping centre has announced it will open from 7.30am, while shoe shop Clarks will be opening extra early at 7am.
But one store that WON'T be opening extra early this Boxing Day, as it has done in past years, is retailer Next. Bosses of the store have previously announced that it is starting its ever-popular Boxing Day sale this year in stores on Tuesday, December 27 from 6am.
Other big names not planning to open at the Trafford Centre on Boxing Day include the large John Lewis department store, and the big Marks and Spencer in the mall.
