Drivers heading eastbound on the M8 towards Glasgow are being met with delays due to an accident at Junction 30 (Bishopton) in Renfrewshire.
Eyewitness reports suggest that a van has blown onto its side on the eastbound section of the motorway, causing one of the two lanes of the motorway to become blocked to traffic as a result.
Traffic Scotland issued an alert to road users around 1:40pm this afternoon, confirming that police were at the scene. They also reported that traffic is heavy in the area due to the accident.

They tweeted: "M8 Bishopton Eastbound restricted at J30 due to an RTC. Police on scene. Traffic is heavy in the area".
Meanwhile traffic information site INRIX have also issued an alert about the incident, which read: "One lane blocked and heavy traffic due to accident on M8 Eastbound at J30 M898 (Erskine Bridge). Lane one (of two) is blocked."
Police Scotland have confirmed that there are no reports of any injuries at present.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We were called around 1.30pm on Wednesday, 23 February, to a report of a crash on the M8 eastbound near junction 30 at Bishopton, involving two vehicles. Recovery is being arranged."
