Traditional Texas BBQ diner serving 12-hour smoked meat to open in Ayrshire

A traditional Texas BBQ diner is set to open at an Ayrshire roadside.

Little Texas BBQ is set to open in Kilmarnock, although an opening date has yet to be unveiled.

The new restaurant will be based at Lakeside Landscapes on the town's Western Road.

Specialising in slow, smoked meats, the new eaterie will be serving up tender beef and pork served in pretzel buns.

We previously told you Lakeside Landscapes launched a bid for a new restaurant to be built in 2021.

Blueprints showed plans for 38 cars at the site and a diner with 76 covers.

A post on the Little Texas BBQ Facebook page reads: "Having worked and lived in South Texas over 15 years ago, Barry learned from a good friend and Texan (Darrel Holt), the fine art of traditional Texas BBQ.

"Immediately hooked with the delicious smoked flavour, along with exceptionally tender meats. Now after 15 years of being back yard smoker, we have decided to follow our passion and love for all things BBQ!

"We are nearly ready to bless Kilmarnock with slow, smoked meats, so keep an eye on our socials for more information about us and our official launch."
