Trade deal likely as European president confirms visit

European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen will travel to Australia, in a trip widely touted as an opportunity to sign a security agreement and long-stalled free trade deal. 

Ms von der Leyen will arrive on Monday and meet with Prime Minister Anthony Albanese in Canberra on Tuesday as part of the three-day visit.
