Tracy Beaker legend Dani Harmer has told fans in a frank post that she can't breastfeed her newborn son, due to a health condition he has.
The Strictly Come Dancing star, 33, gave birth last month to a baby boy, who she and her partner Simon Brough named Rowan Leon James.
Dani, who also shares daughter Avarie-Belle with Simon, told fans on her Insta Story that Rowan had a condition known as tongue tie, when the tissue connecting the tongue to the floor of the mouth is shorter than usual.
She said: "Some of us try to breastfeed but difficulties get in the way. My recovery didn't go to plan and Rowan had a tongue tie which led to us having to bottle feed!
"A happy healthy baby is what's important."
The actress had reposted a picture of ex Made in Chelsea cast member Louise Thompson and her baby son Leo Hunter.
Louise had bravely described the difficulties she had encountered after giving birth to her son, and how she was unable to breasfeed.
In her caption, Dani, who was was propelled to fame playing the main character in The Story of Tracy Beaker at the age of 12, wrote: ""Thank you Louise Thompson for posting this", before going on to describe why she could not breastfeed her son.
Louise came close to death during Leo's birth and has been battling post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other complications since.
In an Instagram post, Louise wrote: "Trigger warning: birth trauma. For a while I was mindful about posting anything with Leo and a plastic bottle in it because I thought I would be judged.
"I remember when I first came home I told Ryan that he couldn’t post an insta story because it had a bottle in the back of shot. I was constantly on the look out for those ugly little things.
"Of course I’d prefer to display the all natural, wholesome, skin on skin kinda look… but that wasn’t a reality for me."
She went on to say that she didn't have a 'choice in the matter' and that she 'shouldn’t have put so much blame on myself for ‘not choosing, but choosing’ to bottle feed our son'.
"I think it’s important to highlight these sorts of experiences in an attempt to break down the stigma attached to bottle feeding and other challenges that new parents face.
