Tracy Beaker child star reveals on-set romances - and strict contract clause

One of the Tracy Beaker child stars says there were cute romances on-set - and revealed that they all had to sign contracts specifying that they wouldn't misbehave.

Alicia Hooper, who starred as Amber Hearst in the BBC show alongside Dani Harmer, has revealed all about her time on the programme.

She was 15 and living in Wales with her family when she audition for the second series of The Story of Tracy Beaker.

Alicia says she loved her time on the programme, adapted from Jacqueline Wilson's iconic books, and because a mini celeb at school - even signing a pie in the student canteen.

The kids got up to all sorts whilst filming - but there was one no-no for the entire cast.

Acting up was just now allowed and the stars even had to agree to good behaviour before they stepped on set.

Alicia, who wowed The Voice UK viewers last year when she belted out a fine rendition of Pink's 'All I Know So Far', says her role as teen tearaway Amber changed everything for her.

“As child actors we were not allowed to misbehave, it was in our contracts and the chaperones knew what we were up to all the time," she told the Sun's Fabulous Magazine.

“There were no off screen romances although I did have a crush on one of the lads in the show for a short time. I won’t say who it was. It was a teen thing."

The 36-year-old went on: “People were shocked and amazed when they realise it was me on the TV and kids would walk up to me in the street and ask if I was Amber - others would yell ‘Go play in the traffic’, one of Amber’s catch phrases."

Earlier this year, her former co-star Mia McKenna Bruce announced pregnant with her first child.

The actress, 25, who played Tee Taylor, the younger sister of Johnny Taylor, posted online: "Don't think we can hide this much longer. We can't wait to meet you baby.

Her fans and famous pals instantly flocked to the comments section with Wolfblood's Aimee Kelly penning: "Congrats yous two. The greatest most special journey of all."

"Whaaaa! Congrats guys," gushed Emmerdale's Max Parker, while his co-star and fiancé Kris Mochrie added: "Ahhhhh! The BEST news. So happy for you both."
