A security-savvy rider has helped police recover almost two dozen stolen e-bikes and electric scooters with a tracking device.
ACT Policing raided a home in Ngunnawal in Canberra's north on Thursday, where they found $30,000 worth of stolen goods, including six e-bikes and 15 electric scooters.
A car trailer and number plates were also recovered by police.
An Apple Air-Tag led police to the house and they were able to obtain a search warrant.
The tag gave out a ping earlier this month after the bike was stolen in December 2022.
Police are encouraging riders to record details of their bikes and scooters and take down serial numbers and images so their items can be easily identified if stolen.
"This allows the quick return of items if recovered by police," ACT Policing said in a statement.
"It also makes it difficult for stolen items to be on-sold, with prospective buyers able to check if an item has been reported stolen."
