Nearly 50,000 Toyota Tacoma owners need to check their trucks for a new safety recall involving shock absorbers that could lose a component while the vehicle is moving. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration lists 48,280 potentially affected vehicles under recall campaign 26V514000, including certain 2024 Toyota Tacoma Hybrid and 2024–2025 Toyota Tacoma trucks.

Toyota separately announced the recall on August 6 and describes the affected U.S. vehicles as certain 2024–2025 Tacoma TRD Off-Road models. The automaker estimates that approximately 48,000 vehicles are involved.
