TOWIE's Lucy Mecklenburgh speaks of 'special' second birth and naming 'difficulty'

Lucy Mecklenburgh has described giving birth to her second daughter as "so special" and likened looking after two children with her Coronation Street star husband as a "military operation."

The TOWIE star, 30, also revealed she and husband Ryan Thomas, 37, haven't named their baby daughter yet, after announcing her birth earlier this week.

Lucy, who also has a son Roman, two, with Ryan, answered questions from fans on her InstaStories.

The star was asked how her birth was this time round, to which she said: "Really positive & calm. It was quite quick and so special. I was in for 5 days after I had Roman so to get out in 6 hours felt sooo surreal!"

She went on to thank the NHS and her midwife for "looking after me and getting my baby here safely."

Alongside the answer, she shared a candid picture of herself in hospital bed, taken from a side angle.

Another follower asked whether it is hard juggling two young tots, to which Lucy said: "Feels a bit like a military operation sometimes but me & Ryan just work as a team.

"I'm breastfeeding, changing etc baby girl and Ryan's changing, bathing, feeding & playing with Roman."

A caring supporter asked how Lucy was recovering after the birth, to which the brunette beauty replied: "I'm really well thank you! Recovery has been good so that has definitely helped and I'm getting around 6 hours broken sleep at the moment which is a lot more than I expected! I'm aware things can change haha."

She was also questioned on whether they have given their baby a name yet, so which Lucy said: "No we are finding it really difficult to name her."

On Tuesday this week, the couple shared their happy news on Instagram, with Lucy posting a black and white photo of their daughter's tiny hand, alongside a pink heart emoji.

Congratulations rolled in with TOWIE stars Chloe Lewis and Gemma Collins gushing over the joyful baby news.

The baby girl's first months of life are sure to be very different to her brother's now that Covid rules have been suspended in the UK.

Roman was born just weeks before the first lockdown began, meaning he had to wait a long time to meet a lot of his loved ones.

Lucy has admitted she was convinced she was having a baby girl this time, and was delighted when a scan revealed she was right.

She told HELLO! : "I had an inkling that I was having a girl, but I was a bit more unsure than with Roman. With him I just knew – I don't know why but even before we found out, I said: 'I know, one hundred per cent, it's a boy'."

Ryan and Lucy, who've been loved up since meeting on Celebrity Island with Bear Grylls in 2017, also said in their joint interview that they were struggling to settle on a name, and it appears from Lucy's recent InstaStory they still are.
