Lauren Goodger's ex was almost three times the legal drink-drive limit and had cocaine in his system when he tragically crashed his car and died while on holiday.
Jake McLean, 33, had been driving in a Mercedes E-Class with TOWIE star Yazmin Oukhellou when the car veered off the road and plunged into a ravine. Yazmin sufferred severe injuries from the crash but survived after pulling herself from the wreckage.
He sustained "skull fractures and brain damage" and died from "traumatic head injuries", an inquest heard.
Following the incident at 4.30am in Bodrum, Turkey, was carried out in July last year and found alcohol and drugs in Jake's system.
Last week, Coroner Dr Shirley Radcliffe told the inquest in Walthamstow, East London: "The post mortem found no natural disease, as you would expect in a young man of 33. The cause of death was skull fractures and brain damage.
"As far as I can see, he was driving under the influence — nearly three times over the legal limit for driving and had cocaine in his system. My conclusion is that this is an RTC."
Jake's funeral took place in August last year, with Lauren Goodger, James Argent and Liam Gatsby among those in attendance at the church
However, Yazmin was not in attendance after she was banned by his family over an alleged row that took place in the car prior to the crash.
A source told The Sun at the time that Yaz had feared that she wouldn't be able to attend and "her worst nightmare came true when it was made clear that she would not be welcome".
They continued that Yazmin had been left "traumatised" after the crash and that not being able to say goodbye has been "awful" for her.
The insider added: "Yaz insists there was no argument and that Jake and she were happy.”
During the inquest, Jake's mum Anita Walsh had asked if there were any more details regarding the crash and the build up to it.
However, Dr Radcliffe had replied: "Turkey is not the most helpful — it’s taken almost a year to get the post mortem."
