Unsurprisingly, many brands followed in their footsteps with their own frozen drinks machines, but Tower’s new Slushie Fusion is the closest I’ve seen to the Slush Puppie machines you’d get at cinemas and ice skating rinks when you were younger – my childhood nostalgia is really being met with this launch.
The Tower Slushie Fusion 5-in-1 Frozen Drinks Maker features a main unit with an LED display at the front, and a 2.6-litre barrel at the top. The lid opens for you to add your liquid which has a maximum capacity of 1.9 litres before it expands into slush and users can dispense their drinks using the lever.
With five pre-sets to choose from, the Tower Slushie Fusion can make slush, frappe, milkshake, cocktail and even wine slushie drinks. These controls are automatic, but you can use manual controls to make your own unique mixtures – you can even add juice or fizzy drinks directly to the machine to slush them up to your tastes.
My favourite feature of the Tower Slushie Fusion is that you don’t need to pre-cool or freeze your drink beforehand. With its built-in compressor, the Tower Slushie Fusion mixes your drinks by 360° around the cold chamber to achieve the right temperature and texture.
Even better, the Tower Slushie Fusion makes drinks in as little as 30 minutes, so it’s a handy appliance to have in your home for summer garden parties and barbecues. The Tower Slushie Fusion will also keep your drinks frozen for up to 12 hours, and despite looking complicated to clean, the barrel can be removed from the main body for easy cleaning.
