What do Edinburgh, Carlisle and Derby have in common? According to internet search analysis, they're the most misspelled towns and cities in the UK.
Commissioned by Casinotop10.net, the research was carried out by looking up the Google search volume from British searchers. All of the UK's capital cities were in the top ten.
London is in fourth place with guesses including 'Landoan', 'Loodon' and 'Londan'. But out on top is Edinburgh, with misspelled versions including 'Edinburg', 'Edinbough' and 'Edinboro'.
England’s Carlisle is in second place, most often misspelled as 'Carlyle' or 'Carlilse'. And in third place is Derby, often spelled 'Darby', 'Derbie', and 'Darbie'.
Fourth is Bicester - most commonly misspelled 'Bister', then Warwick - 'Warrick'; Glasgow - 'Glassgow' or 'Glazgo'; Cardiff - 'Kardiff'; Torquay - 'Tourkey' or 'Tourkie', and finally Bournemouth - 'Bornmouthe' and 'Bornmath'.
