Tourist quoted €51,000 for car rental in Ireland for nine days amid 'shortages'

The topic of the cost of living in Ireland is saturating the media at the minute and one man’s attempt to rent a car for nine days is the latest story riling people up.

The tourist, due to arrive in Ireland with his family in the coming weeks, wanted to rent a nine-seater car for the duration of their trip so they could see the countryside.

After doing some research online, the unnamed father was given an estimated - and staggering - quote of €51,000 for 9 days.
