Tourist has motorbike stolen while visiting Edinburgh

A tourist received a disappointing welcome to Edinburgh when they had their motorbike stolen. The bike was parked in the Drylaw area of the city when the vehicle was stolen.

However, thanks to the keen eye and quick actions of a member of the public, the motorbike was recovered by police. The success story was hailed by police as an example of the "great assistance" members of the public can give officers to help fight crime.

The case was recounted by Road Policing Scotland in a statement posted online during the early hours of Thursday. The statement read: "A phone call made by a member of the public tonight to police has resulted in Edinburgh Road Police recovering a visiting tourists stolen motorcycle in Drylaw.
