Tourism hub eyed for state land

the Transport Ministry Phangnga

PHANGNGA: The Transport Ministry is exploring a 765-rai development in Takua Thung district, with plans for hotels and wellness centres alongside tourism and service activities.

Deputy Transport Minister Sanphet Bunyamanee has assigned SRT Asset Co (SRTA) to study options for the state-owned site, including a wellness centre aimed at creating jobs and income for surrounding communities.

The Tha Nun area is near Phuket International Airport and the proposed MR9 motorway, giving it potential as a tourism and investment hub.

SRTA will weigh investment models, environmental factors and community needs before proposing a plan.
