Tottenham have been forced into a defensive reshuffle for their crunch game against Newcastle, with Cristian Romero suspended and Destiny Udogie ruled out for at least a month.
Romero is banned for four games after his red card at Old Trafford at the weekend and Udogie has been sidelined for “four to five weeks” with another hamstring injury.

Kevin Danso is still “weeks away” from a return from a toe injury, so Radu Dragusin starts just his second game in a year.
Djed Spence is fit to return after two games out with a calf injury, and starts.

With Souza yet to start since signing from Santos for £13million in January, Frank plays Spence at left-back and Archie Gray at right-back in what is another big game for Thomas Frank.
Udogie limped off after 55 minutes of the 2-0 defeat to Manchester United and Frank says the left-back will miss “four to five weeks”.
After the United defeat, Spurs are now just six points from the relegation zone and are still searching for their first league win of 2026.
