Tottenham vs Brighton prediction and odds: Harry Kane to frustrate Seagulls once again

Tottenham Hotspur will be looking to widen the gap in the top four race for a few hours at least when they welcome a Brighton & Hove Albion in rejuvenated form. Spurs appreciation for the Albion beating Arsenal last weekend will be short lived when they both step onto the pitch at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Spurs are the favourites at 1/2 for the early kick-off match with Betfred while Brighton are 5/1 and a draw is 16/5. Antonio Conte's side will be full of confidence as they enter this weekend in the top four but will welcome Graham Potter's team who will be on a high after ended their goal drought and winless run with a 2-1 against the Gunners.

Conte will be over-the-moon with Tottenham's 4-0 win against Aston Villa last weekend and despite the Italian manager recently testing positive with Covid-19, it looks like it has not hampered preparation from this fixture at all nor affect anyone else. The former Inter Milan and Juventus boss will be looking to get Spurs in a great position with a set of winnable matches - on paper - for the rest of April before meeting Liverpool and then a North London Derby at home to worry about.

For the Albion, they have a few more matches to worry about before getting the all clear that they are safe from relegation for yet another season. Potter's side did suffer a six-match winless run in the league which included just one goal away from home. At home, their form is the worst in the Premier League but their away form speaks of a side who can produce a shock or two which Conte will need to be prepared for.

Team stats

Both teams in matches involving Spurs have scored in 12 out of 31 league matches while for Brighton it is 15 from 31. Both teams to score is evens.

Spurs have finished 19 Premier League matches with three or more total goals while for Brighton it is just eight. Over 2.5 total goals is 4/5.

Players to watch

Harry Kane is definitely a player to rely on and seems to be a handful against Graham Potter's side with the England captain picking up eight goals in 11 matches.

For the Albion, keep an eye out on Moises Caicedo and Enock Mwepu after the duo were superb against Arsenal picking up two assists and a goal between them. Caicedo controlled the midfield superbly with Yves Bissouma while Mwepu's support on the flanks really helped the Albion create the chances.

H2H

This will be the 25th meeting between the two sides with Spurs picking up 15 wins, four draws and five defeats in all competitions against the Albion. In league meetings, Spurs have picked up 11 wins, three draws and five defeats.

The only time Spurs lost at home to Brighton was back in 1981 with Michael Robinson scoring a last minute winner at White Hart Lane. Since then, the Albion have failed to win at either White Hart Lane or the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after nine attempts.
