Tottenham transfer news: Richarlison talks stepped up as Brazilian defender linked

Tottenham leapt out of the blocks early in the transfer window to start rebuilding Antonio Conte's squad as they face competing in the Premier League and Champions League next season.

But Spurs fans have since grown restless at the amount of money actually spent considering they were promised a £150m injection of cash from owners Enic during this transfer window.

And both Conte and sporting director Fabio Paratici are now deciding where to spend the bulk of the cash as they cast their net in the transfer market. Mirror Sport has rounded up all the latest Tottenham transfer news and rumours.

Richarlison talks heat up

Spurs sources were insisting earlier in the window that their interest in Everton striker Richarlison had been exaggerated. But the in-demand Brazil striker, who is also on Chelsea's radar, remains a target and the Evening Standard report that talks could accelerate this week. That's because Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has been spotted holding talks with Toffees counterpart Bill Kenwright.

Door opens for Brazilian

Torino are expecting a bid from Spurs for £35m-rated centre back Gleison Bremer according to Sport Mediaset in Italy. Inter Milan have already agreed personal terms with the player but the two club have yet to agree a fee for the Brazilian, opening the door for Spurs. And Conte is certainly in the market for another defender after being linked with multiple targets this summer.

Barca target linked

Spanish newspaper Sport claims that it is not Bremer but Barcelona defender Clement Lenglet who could be about to end up at Spurs. They report that Roma have backed away from a bid, put off by his high wages, and that Spurs could take advantage. Lenglet wants to play Champions League football, and Tottenham believe a loan deal can be done.
