Antonio Conte has not been afraid to splash the cash in a bid to turn Tottenham into a side capable of keeping pace with their Premier League rivals and make a decent fist of the Champions League on their return to the competition..
Tottenham have already snared Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster, Yves Bissouma, Richarlison, Clement Lenglet and Djed Spence which has eaten up a sizable chunk of his reputed £150m transfer budget.
The Italian does not look to be finished, however, as he endeavours to add a few more new faces before the window slams shut in September. Mirror Sport has rounded up the latest Spurs transfer news, rumours and gossip.
Destiny winger will sign
Conte will lay another brick in his plan to build for the future with 22-year-old Destiny Udogie arriving later this week. The 19-year-old Udinese wing-back really is one of the hottest prospects in Serie A and that’s why Conte wants him in now. Spurs will fork out the £22m plus add-ons that it will take to land the Italy U-21 star and then loan him back to Udinese for the season. According to Football London the deal is as good as done with Udogie arriving to complete everything in the "coming days".
It’s all part of Conte’s desire to have competition for every position which he hopes will see Tottenham move to the next level. Udogie is the young player everyone is talking about in Italy and it’s no coincidence that his arrival follows on from the acquisition of Ivan Perisic. The 33-year-old Croatian is ready for action right this minute whereas Udogie will be given another full term where he is comfortable to get in more vital experience. Here’s the thing - Udogie and Perisic were the top two in Serie A last season for goal contributions and they are now under Conte’s wing.

Royal exit
Perisic will provide serious competition for Ryan Sessegnon - a man whose display in the 4-1 opening day win over Southampton looked like that of someone looking over his shoulder. Udogie, a six-footer being tipped for a call to the senior Italian squad, will come in for pre-season next summer to continue what Spurs hope can be a conveyor belt of talent. But with wing backs aplenty, Spurs inevitably look set to have their eye on shipping one out - with Emerson Royal the likeliest candidate according to Football London. The Brazilian was in the side which beat Saints comprehensively but the general consensus of opinion appears to be that he’s the favourite to be heading for the exit door.
Roma consider swap deal
Roma midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo still looks like being a Tottenham player despite reports in Italy that the Serie A side have turned down a big offer. Italian outlet CMW claim a £46m offer has met with no joy but suggesting that the North London club could yet try to seal it with an improved bid for the 23-year-old. AS RomaLive reports that a deal still looks likely and there’s a suggestion that maybe a player could go the other way to ease things. They say Japhet Tanganga, Tanguy Ndombele, Harry Winks or Giovani Lo Celso are all on the list of players they would consider.
