Tottenham target Alessandro Bastoni has ruled out leaving Inter Milan for "many more years".
Spurs made a left-sided centre-back a priority for the summer transfer window, with Bastoni their first-choice target.
However, talks failed to progress and Spurs moved on to other targets, with Barcelona's Clement Lenglet later joining on loan for the season.
Bastoni has now discussed his future, insisting never thought about leaving his boyhood club.
"I never had the slightest doubt about leaving Inter, here I have everything I need to feel good and express myself at my best," Bastoni told Gazzetta dello Sport.
"I feel great with my teammates, with the club, I adore Milan and so why go elsewhere?
"I am happy to be here, I see myself for many more years with this shirt and, in the meantime, I hope to win a lot more."
Milan Skriniar is another to be linked with an Inter exit this summer, to both Spurs and Chelsea among other European giants.
Bastoni hopes his "best friend" stays put, adding: "He embodies the Inter spirit.
“Milan has integrated perfectly over the years and we have integrated with him in the department we have built together. Plus, he’s my best friend in the group.
"It would really be a shame to leave us right now, I hope he stays. I think we’ll still do a lot of great things together."
