Tottenham star Harry Kane urged to consider Liverpool transfer despite Antonio Conte plan

The future of Tottenham striker Harry Kane is set to be a talking point for the remainder of the summer, with just two years left to run on his contract. There will be no shortage of clubs interested in the England captain given his remarkable goal scoring record for club and country.

He was said to be unhappy last summer and a transfer request became public knowledge before Kane stayed at the club. However, this summer it is understood that the 28-year-old is more content in North London under the management of Antonio Conte but this won't stop clubs having an interest in him.

Liverpool are a name that have been mentioned often already this summer, and with the future of Sadio Mane uncertain it could well be a move which would suit Jurgen Klopp. Another voice suggesting that Kane should make a move to Anfield is former Liverpool full-back Glen Johnson who says that Kane would be a great fit on Merseyside.

Johnson, who made 200 appearances for the Reds and gained 54 England caps during his career, was speaking to BettingOdds.com when he made the comments. While he admitted Kane's suitability as a player he also raised the question of his age with the club generally signing players in the mid-twenties, as has been the case with Luis Diaz in recent times.

He said: “Personally, I’d love to see him at Liverpool. I think he’d be a great fit for them. We know how Liverpool do their business and I don’t think they’d break the bank for someone of Harry’s age. I know he’s not old but Liverpool don’t do that sort of thing. I’d be very surprised if the deal came off, but I’d like to see it happen.”
