Tottenham right-back Pedro Porro’s entourage are ‘convinced’ that his former boss Ruben Amorim will make a move to sign him now he’s at Manchester United, a transfer news report has claimed.
Porro has gone from strength to strength since completing his move to Spurs from Sporting Lisbon last year.
The Spaniard is an integral part of Ange Postecoglou’s squad at Tottenham, making the right-back spot his own.
Real Madrid have shown interest for Porro in recent weeks, while Man City are also keen.
However, reports from Spain claim Porro’s camp believe United will launch a bid to sign him.
Spanish news outlet AS reveal, as reported by Team Talk, that this is down to arrival of new United boss Ruben Amorim.
Is A Ruben Amorim And Pedro Porro Reunion On The Cards?
Pedro Porro featured 98 times under Ruben Amorim during their time at Sporting Lisbon together – a piece of Manchester United transfer news that would excite many Red Devils supporters.
The Spanish defender scored 12 goals and provided 20 assists in that time, which earned him a £40 million move to Spurs in January last year.
Porro thrived in Amorim’s 3-4-3 system and was given license to join the attack at any moment.
Should Amorim look to reunite with Porro happen, he will likely have fork out to do so.
AS are reporting that United will have to pay at least £58m (€70m) to bring him to Old Trafford.
Manchester United Transfer News: Pedro Porro Could Be The Perfect Fit For Ruben Amorim’s Needs
Earlier this month, Amorim hint that he would be unwilling to move away from his 3-4-3 system at United.
This requires his full-back to bomb up and down the pitch, contributing on defence and attack.
Diogo Dalot and Noussair Mazraoui are the current options available to Amorim to fulfil these duties at United.
Pedro Porro has now been directly involved in more Premier League goals than any other defender since the start of last season (12).

However, it remains to be seen if either man can perform what is expected in Amorim’s system. This could see the Portuguese boss go with players he’s familiar with, like Porro.
“I have to start from something I know very well and then develop that with the players,” Amorim said. “We don’t have much time to train, there are many games, so I’ll start from a structure I know very well.”
What Pedro Porro Has Said About Ruben Amorim
After Ruben Amorim was announced as the new Manchester United manager, Pedro Porro heaped praise on his former boss.
Porro said after Spurs’ 4-1 win over Aston Villa: “I have nothing but good things to say about him.”
“He’s coming to one of the best stages in the world, the Premier League.
“So I wish him the best and hope things go as well as possible for him. The confidence he gave me was fundamental for me, and that’s why, when I arrived at Sporting, things went well for me.
“Apart from him, the style of play also suited me well.”
