Manchester City can expect a £10million boost in the summer after Tottenham completed the signing of former Blues full-back Pedro Porro late on transfer deadline day.
City signed Porro for £5.5m in 2019, loaning him out to Real Valladolid and then to Sporting for two seasons. As part of that second loan, Sporting had the option to buy Porro for £7.2m - something they did last summer. City added a buy-back clause and a sell-on clause, and now look to be getting a quick return from the latter.
Porro has now joined Tottenham on loan for the rest of the season, before they will be obligated to buy the Spain international for a reported £39m in the summer. Of that fee, City can expect around £10m thanks to that sell-on clause.

City's 30 per cent entitlement to any profit Sporting make on Porro means that the Blues will get an early boost to their summer transfer budget, and that could grow further if Bayern Munich buy Joao Cancelo for £61m.
Porro will replace Matt Doherty at Tottenham, with the right-back joining Atletico Madrid after having his contract terminated by mutual consent. City travel to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday, where Porro could make his Spurs debut against his former club.
Porro faced City in the Champions League last season, and made headlines when he claimed that he had never spoken to Pep Guardiola and wasn't sure if the City boss knew he existed. Guardiola replied, saying: "I know him perfectly but we have 250 loan players and I cannot speak with them all. I'm happy it’s going well and of course I know him. I saw many games and sometimes he played and sometimes he doesn’t."
Elsewhere in the Premier League on deadline day, City's status as holders of the British transfer record was beaten as Chelsea signed Argentina World Cup winner Enzo Fernandez for £105m - eclipsing the £100m City paid for Jack Grealish in 2021. City's title rivals Arsenal bolstered their midfield after the injury to Thomas Partey, by signing Chelsea's Jorginho.
