Tottenham are set to add Rangers chief scout Andy Scoulding to their recruitment ranks.
Scoulding is due to move to north London later in the summer, although his official job title is yet to be finalised by Spurs. He arrives with an excellent reputation from Ibrox, having joined Rangers back in 2017.
During his time in Glasgow, Scoulding helped spot a lot of the talent that went on to become crucial players in Rangers’ title-winning side last season. That same team went on to reach the final of the Europa League this term, with the XI that started that match costing around £12million.
Scoulding can boast a number of success stories from that team, including signing Joe Aribo on a free transfer from Charlton and Calvin Bassey from Leicester for a fee of around £200,000. Bassey is now set to leave Rangers this summer for a fee north of £20m.
After returning to the Champions League, Tottenham are expected to be busy in the upcoming transfer window. The club have already brought in goalkeeper Fraser Forster and winger Ivan Perisic, both on frees. Spurs also want to bring in a centre-back and a right-back, with Nottingham Forest’s Djed Spence high on their list of targets.
